“She speaks
with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
Proverbs 31:26
I am attending a class on
Wednesday nights at church. It’s a Bible study over the book, Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst. During
the video this past week, she tells a story about teaching her son how to do
the hard thing and put away his
selfish desires just as she walks into the house and into the pantry for a “quick-fix”
chocolate snack. Just then the LORD spoke to her and asked her how could she demand
one thing from her son and not from herself. That hit me right between the eyes!!
How often do we do that in our own lives? How many times have I asked one thing
of my children and yet I turn around and do just what I’ve asked them not to do.
WOW!! This week my challenge has really been to speak with “wisdom and faithful
instruction” so that I can be the best example for my children and husband. Besides my relationship with Jesus Christ, my family is #1 on my priority list. I want them to be proud of me. Not just because I'm his wife or their mother; but because I am a woman who "speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction." I want to guard my tongue so that everything I speak is holy and pleasing to the Lord.
Blessings,
Annette
