Scriptural Sundays

Early Tuesday morning, February 14th, my Daddy went to his Eternal Home. Today was my Daddy’s funeral. (I have not had a chance to write about everything yet. But, I will.)  We planned his service as a Celebration and I think that’s exactly what it was. Much more laughter than sadness. That was my Daddythe life of the party! I am so blessed and thankful to have called him Daddy.

For this morning’s post, I wanted to share the songs we sang at the Celebration service. I hope they bless you as much as they did us.

“He Is” by Mark Shultz

And, I want to share with you the words of my favorite song:

There’s a peace I’ve come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There’s an anchor for my soul
I can say “It is well”

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

[Chorus]
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles’ wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

There’s a day that’s drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And faith shall be my eyes

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

[Chorus]
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles’ wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
“Worthy is the Lamb”
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
“Worthy is the Lamb”
[repeat]

[Chorus]
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles’ wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

Blessings,
Annette

I don't know how I could make it through this time without Him by my side! I'm so glad I found your blog!!

Thank you for sharing the songs, and your favorite. Music can be a great bridge builder between grieving and celebration.

I am sincerely sorry that your Daddy is no longer here with you! What a blessing his family must have been to him in his final days, though. Your strength and devotion surely gave him peace! The circumstances that your favorite song (It is Well) were written under is so very fitting to your situation. May God comfort and uphold you in this painful time!

Kasey, thank you so much. It is difficult at times. But, I am so very thankful my Heavenly Father is holding us up until we can once again walk alongside Him.
